The North West Surgical Hand Society, formerly known as the Hand (Dining) Club, was established in 1987 at a time when Hand Surgery was becoming a speciality in its own right within the UK. The first meeting was held at The French Restaurant in the Midland Hotel, Manchester on the 24th November with 8 of the 9 founder members attending.
The Society meets 3 times a year on a Tuesday in January, May and September. Members are Consultant Surgeons with an interest in Hand Surgery who practice in the North West of England. We currently have approximately 50 members, including Orthopaedic and Plastic Surgeons as well as Radiologists with an interest in the Hand and Wrist. Complex clinical cases are brought by members for consideration and discussion. Members are permitted to bring along their colleagues or trainees as guests.
